Donors Push Fireworks Fund To ‘It’s A Go

The Save Kailua Fireworks campaign has succeeded: All the permits are in, and as of press time, the group needed only “a couple thousand dollars more.” An air show begins 6 p.m. Saturday off Kailua Beach Park, followed by fireworks at 8.

Castle High graduate (1996) Candice Bonser Wong has been inducted into the Heald College Alumni Hall of Fame. Candice graduated with highest honors from the school and also from HPU magna cum laude. A Waimanalo man was arrested for allegedly stealing a diaper bag from the lifeguard stand April 11 at Makapuu Beach Park. Police say the lifeguard and his wife had put the bag in the storage area under the stand and entered the water.
