Hawaii Kai Retirement Community plans a variety of events for residents and the public this month, ranging from a weekly farmers market to a candlelight dinner.

The facility is located at 428 Kawaihae St., and details of the following activities are available by calling Heather Lapinad at 396-0720, ext. 125.

* Farmers market, 8 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Aug. 4, 11, 18 and 25 in the Hale Makai parking lot


 

* Ice cream socials, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 17 in the Hale Makai back dining room, and Aug. 19 in the Hale Mauka ice cream parlor

* Candlelight dinner, 5 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 18 in both main dining rooms; music by pianists Artie McNair and Alan Fisher. Cost is $10.

* Vendor fair, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 26 in both Hale Makai and Hale Mauka.


Reservations (to the above number) are required for the ice cream socials and the dinner.
