Criss Angel’s ‘Believe’ is slated to premiere Oct. 31

WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!

AFTER A PERFORMANCE for 400 Cirque du Soleil employees, the gala premiere of Criss Angel’s Believe is being pushed back to Oct. 31 (from Oct. 10). No official reason is given for the delay, but a Halloween Gala seems like a natural for the show named after the code word Harry Houdini gave to his wife before he died on Oct. 31, 1926.

THE THIRD ANNUAL Rock N Roll Wine Festival is happening Saturday, Sept. 27. Enjoy more than 125 unique wines spread across the sands of Mandalay Bay Beach with the rock provided by the Gin Blossoms.

‘Believe’ character

STEVE WYNN HAS extended his contract with the company that bears his name, Wynn Resorts Ltd. The 66-year-old casino exec will be 78 when his contract ends. Nice work if you can get it ... Last year he brought home $11.2 million, $3.2 million in salary, $7.5 million in incentives and about $573,000 in other compensation (personal use of the corporate jet).

NOW I KNOW how Paris Hilton feels. According to attorneys for OJ Simpson, the average person in Las Vegas is photographed 81 times a minute.

THE LONG ARM of Las Vegas law ... Singapore businessman Poh Soon Kit lost $4.4 million and tried to stiff Caesars Palace. The casino got a U.S. court order for repayment then petitioned the commonwealth of Singapore to force him to repay the debt.

THE VOLCANO first erupted in front of the Mirage in 1989. Scheduled to reopen later this year, the new volcano will feature the latest developments in flame-expression technology (I love that term) - massive fireballs shooting more than 12 feet high, fiery lava flowing down the volcano’s fissures and a sound-track created by Grammy Award-winning Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer Mickey Hart (Grateful Dead drummer) and Indian musical virtuoso Zakir Hussain. Check out the video at www.KimosVegas.com.

WHEN CITYCENTER opens next year, it’ll feature the most advanced guest room technology available. As you approach your room, it will recognize if it’s your first visit (to the room) and “greet” you! The lights will turn on, the curtains will part, the TV will turn on and trumpets will blast tahdah! ... OK, maybe not trumpets. In addition, a remote control and a seven-inch touch-screen control panel (on each side of the bed) will control the lighting, room temperature, television, music, draperies and even allow you to order room service or a massage. Need a wake-up call? There’s no annoying clock radio electronic beep to jar you. Instead, the 42-inch LCD TV will gradually brighten the lights and increase the level of music to lull you from your slumber. Pretty soon you won’t even have to visit the casino - just open your wallet and the room will take all your money.

SPEAKING OF taking your money ... At the Hard Rock there’s a new game called “21 to the River.” First you place a BJ and a poker bet, if you bust, they deal you a poker hand starting with your bust card. If you don’t bust, the poker bet is a push.

AN ODD RUMOR or someone’s hitting the pipe ... The Bellagio and The Wynn have been asking poker players such as Doyle Brunson and Phil Ivey if they would start playing craps and blackjack to give the casinos a chance at their bankrolls.
