WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!

BOYD GAMING CORP. has officially announced the delay of its $4.8 billion, mega Strip project “Echelon, ” saying the challenging economy (tighter credit for real estate developments and declining casino revenues) is to blame. But they expect construction to restart late next year ... Since the announcement, the company’s stock has been up as much as 30 percent.

THE TIGHT FINANCIAL market is making it difficult for many projects to raise money, including the MGM Mirage’s CityCenter. The city-within-a-city development that includes four luxury high-rise condos has fallen behind in securing a $3.5 billion loan. Analysts say banks have been reluctant to buy into the project because the condo market is upside down and the MGM still has many unsold units in “Signature.”

A NEW COMPANY, Luxury Suites International, has come to the rescue of many Vegas condo owners by managing (maintaining, repairing and representing owners) and providing hospitality (renting rooms and guest services). If you need help with your property or need a room where you can still charge food and amenities and have your host comp it, check out its website at www.LuxurySuitesIntl.com.

PARIS HILTON was at Macy’s in the Fashion Show Mall last week to debut her new fall shoe collection. The first 300 folks to buy her goods got a meet-and-greet as well as an autographed photo. The environmentally conscious heiress makes her shoeboxes from recycled paper and it’s designed with the handles built in, saving the Earth from another plastic bag.
