WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!

AND I WILL CALL IT ... Bette Midler: The Showgirl Must Go On. That’s the official name The Divine One has bestowed on the production that replaces Celine Dion’s A New Day at Caesars Colosseum. Look for a huge 13-piece band, 20 female dancers and her backup singers, The Harlettes, on stage. Tickets for opening day are tough to come by (unless you’re a high roller), but they’ve already added five shows because of high demand. Visit www.KimosVegas.com for ticket info.

THE STAR OF The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line is it Anyway? Drew Carey brings his comedic genius to the MGM Grand’s Hollywood Theatre Jan. 31 to Feb. 3. Also on stage, The Improv All Stars: Kathy Kinney (Mimi from the The Drew Carey Show), Greg Proops,

Chip Esten and Ryan Stiles, from Whose Line is it Anyway? and Jeff Davis, Julie Larson and Sean Masterson.

THE PENTHOUSE CLUB is the magazine turned into a real-life club and, like its paper-and-ink relative, it is strictly for mature audiences. Featuring four rooms (Key Lounge, Penthouse Suite, VIP Lounge, RU702 Lounge) on 46,000 square feet, the club is open 24/7 and is hosting an open casting call Monday, Dec. 17 at noon for entertainers, bar staff and servers.

CHECK OUT the new Star Trek machines ... they have a feature called “Adaptive Gaming.” You can warp through galaxies with Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock, but what makes these slots adaptive are the games within the game (Explore New Worlds, Trouble with Tribbles and Trek Through Time). Each level is designed as a separate game complete with different graphics and bonus rounds. To advance to the next level, you need to collect 50 medals. But the neatest feature of all is that you can save your game (so you don’t have to start with zero medals each time you play), and all you have to do is sign in anytime on any Star Trek machine to resume where you left off! Live Long and Prosper ...

FANS OF THE DRAGON, Bruce Lee, will be happy to see his slot machine in the casinos soon.

THE SLOT MACHINES at the Cal paid off ... Edwin Ancheta of Kealia won $2,000, Lauretta Sewake of Wahiawa won $2,400, Francis Apo of Kaneohe won $2,500, Alfred Agbayani of Mililani won $3,600 and the person we really like rub for luck, Kelle Shodahl of Ewa Beach, won $26,207.

OUR FRIEND Steve Bourie lets us know that the 2008 edition of the American Casino Guide is at bookstores everywhere. Inside you’ll find 201 coupons worth more than $1,000 in savings (a good deal for a $16.95 book). But the real values are the tips and stories from America’s leading gaming experts on everything from blackjack to roulette. The guide is a must-have if you wanna know what and where the casinos are in each state.
