BECAUSE OF increased competition from its neighbor states’ slot machine growth, Delaware is considering a bill to allow its three casinos to accept wagers on sports events. If passed, Delaware will become the second state where betting on your favorite team is legal. Currently only four states have an exception to the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act that Congress passed in 1992 - Nevada, Delaware, Oregon and Montana.
LAST WEEK there was a rare accident at a Cirque du Soleil show. A few minutes before the end of Zumanity at New York, New York, a 29-year-old female acrobat (whose identity was not released) was injured in a 15-foot fall from a white “aerial silk” drape. Before hitting the stage she hit another performer, who was treated for minor injuries. Let’s wish them a speedy recovery.

VEGAS IS quickly establishing itself as the home of award shows from every flavor from music to porn to video games. Mandalay Bay hosts the fifth annual Video Game Awards Dec. 7. On the red carpet, it’ll be a who’s who of the video game industry. This year Halo 3 and Bioshock lead with seven nominations, including best game.
