FRIGHT DOME is the annual haunting of the Circus Circus starting Oct. 5. If you scare easily, think twice about checking out what AOL calls the fourth-scariest haunted attraction in the country. Demons fall from the sky and a terror-filled wax museum, a haunted theater and five haunted houses inhabit the Adventuredome. Other freaks in residency are Lady Diabla, who lies face-down on broken glass, swallows swords and hammers nails four inches into her head, and the Lizard Man, who has had 650 hours of tattooing, covering his entire body with reptilian scales and black markings (even his eyelids and lips are tattooed). Whoa, big kine chicken skin.

LOCAL BI-COMMUNAL (she lives in Vegas and Hawaii) ad exec Jan Nagano’s favorite Vegas eatery is Shizen Japanese Restaurant at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa. That’s where you’ll find local boys Mike Maeda (chef) and Kevin Ma (GM) cooking up the ono-est Japanese food (sushi, tempura and teppanyaki) perfectly matched with delicious chilled premium sake (13 different varieties in all). Banzai!

CONGRATS TO Kamel Guechida from Joël Robuchon’s MGM restaurant. Bon Appetit magazine has named him Pastry Chef of the Year. He’s known for his signature soufflé, violet milkshake with blueberry marmalade, and marinated peaches with raspberry meringue and strawberry sorbet.
