WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas… The Players Edge!

Britney Spears

THE NEWEST night-spot in Las Vegas reportedly paid Britney Spears $100,000 to party for an hour on Labor Day. LAX didn’t think twice about the investment. When she appeared at Pure’s New Year’s party the table next to her sold for $50,000 and over 3,000 partiers spent $250 per ticket to party with the bald one.

IF YOU’RE wondering, pop tarts aren’t the only highly paid celebs, appearance fees start at free tabs and can include private jets, suites and more. Models fees vary between $2,500 and $25,000 and NBA players can get as much as $30,000.

HOLD ON, pardner: Prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas, so wassup with the mobile billboards for the Chicken Ranch? Is it some kind of new fast food chain? Nope, it’s advertising for the Pahrump, Nev., brothel. While the world’s oldest profession is still illegal in Sin City, the advertising of a legal house of ill repute is O.K.

THIS MONTH in Oceanic Cables’Around Hawaii, check out “Gambling Superstitions” - if I missed one of your favorites email me .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Janet Jackson

AT THE Rolling Stone 40th anniversary party, Jay Z, Jermaine Dupree, Rihanna, Linkin Park, Ludacris, Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Timbaland, Jamie Foxx and more.

WHY WERE they smiling at the Fremont? Marlene Perez of Waipahu and Ronald Yonemura from Honolulu won $4,000, Stuart Akuna from Waihee won $5,000 and Sally Chan of Honolulu won $10,000 big ones!

THE STATE of Indiana wants to prosecute gamblers who knowingly played a faulty slot. Seems a machine was programmed to accept foreign dinero and registered $10 for every $1 that was inserted into the bill receptor. An honest patron alerted casino management about the error - but not until other players had cashed out $500,000!

THE VENETIAN Macau hosted 114,000 people during the first 24 hours of operation. That’s like having every person on Maui show up at your grand opening.

PAKE POKER: The World Poker Tour has signed a five-year agreement to introduce tournament poker to China. The guy who sold this deal could probably sell the proverbial “Ice Cream to Eskimos.” I guess he didn’t know there is a nationwide ban on gambling.

MO’NIQUE

MO’NIQUE (VH1’S Charm School), the Queen of Comedy, checks into the Mandalay Bay Theatre for a one-night stand, Friday, Sept. 28.

ELITE TRAVELER, the magazine that caters to high-end (translation: rich) travelers features the 101 Suites of the Year. Their Las Vegas choices are Hef’s Sky Villa (10,000 sq. ft.) and the Hardwood Suite (10,000) in the Palms. The Absolut Suite (1,380) in Caesars also made the grade. Local suites for the discriminating (translation: rich) traveler are the Maile Suite (5,000) and the Ali’i Suite (3,800) in the Four Seasons Maui. Check out the pure decadence of all 101 suites online at www.KimosVegas.com
