SHOWGIRLS, ROCK STARS and athletes and VIPs of all kinds made it an All Star Game like never before ... on the red carpet: Beyonce, Jay-Z, Diddy, Prince, Jack Nicholson, Cameron Diaz, Adam Sandler, Sharon Stone, Chris Tucker, Dave Chappelle, Eva Longoria, Matthew Perry, Paris Hilton, Maria Shriver, Russell Simmons, Chris Tucker, Usher, Nelly, Nicky Hilton, Serena Williams and local golf sensation Michelle Wie.

THIS WEEKEND came in second only to New Year’s ... with more than 169 official parties (before our spies got tired of counting). But the most-sought-after invite was probably Jay-Z’s and LeBron James’ little get-together (about 1,500 guests) at Tao in the Venetian. Spotted at the event: everyone from Fortune 500 CEOs, Hollywood power brokers and celebs to the biggest names from the NFL, MLB and NBA.

WILL THE fastest-growing city get its own NBA team? The owners meet April 23 to review the city’s proposal. Experts put the price tag on this venture at $500 million for a new stadium and $500 million to the NBA (about $15 million for each owner).

NOT SO SUPER ... this year the casinos took in only $93 million for bets on the Big Game compared to last year’s $94.5 million. Profits on the game, however, are up from $8.8 million to $12.9 million!

SPOTTED AT the Hard Rock Super Party, Power 104.3 account manager Taryn Bundailian and buddy Amber Lee with rocker Vince Neil. Taryn says her husband Jerome took the picture. Let’s hope so ... what happens in Vegas is seen right here!

THIS PAST weekend was also Las Vegas’s golden week ... during the 2006 Chinese New Year weekend $827 million was wagered on the Strip’s baccarat tables. This resulted in a $91 million win for the casinos - big bucks compared to the NBA All Star Game, which is expected to generate $27 million.

HOW CAN THEY make so much money in one weekend? Whales, the highest of the high-rollers - players who will bet $150,000 per hand and have a credit line starting at $3 million. At this level, the casino will charter you a jet, put you up in an 8,000-square-foot suite and fly in your favorite chef.

DID YOU KNOW ... that the staff at the Caesars and MGM carry hongbao (little red envelopes with as much as $100) to give to Chinese guests?

OVER THE weekend the Chinese restaurant in Wynn Las Vegas, Wing Lei, featured dried Japanese abalone ($2,226 a pound) and bird’s nest soup ($1,600 a pound).

THE POLICE reunion tour makes its fourth stop at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Friday, June 15. No word on a Hawaii date ... we’ll be looking for the scoops in MidWeek‘s Uncle Tom’s Gabbin.

WHO’S COUNTING ... The Aladdin Planet Hollywood has been painted three different colors in the last 10 months ...
