Monty Python's SPAMALOT at Wynn Las Vegas

WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!

Donald Trump

YOU’RE FIRED! Something no one wants to hear, especially from Donald Trump. Katie Rees, the reigning Miss Nevada who recently lost her crown because of her hard-partying ways and pictures unbecoming a Miss anything on the Internet, has been hired by Jeff Beacher. She’ll host the return of Beacher’s Madhouse at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The former Miss should be right at home in circus-night club fusion that features side-show acts like Tiny KISS, the world’s oldest male stripper, the naked lady who rolls around on glass and much more. Britney Spears, Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton, Quentin Tarantino, Lindsay Lohan and Jon Bon Jovi are some of the stars who have been to the Madhouse.

$1.3 BILLION! That’s how much Las Vegas Strip hotels gave away last year in comps. If you didn’t get your share of $3.5 million in daily comps, check out the tips section at www.KimosVegas.com.

Le Reve
Le Reve

YOU REMEMBER when Steve Wynn accidentally poked a hole in his Picasso “Le Reve.” The billionaire was showing the painting to a few friends in his office before sending it to Steven Cohen, who bought it for $139 million. After the accident the deal for the most expensive painting ever sold was called off. Now Steve is suing Lloyd’s of London for failing to pay a $54 million insurance claim. Seems he wants the insurance company to pay the difference between the pre-accident appreciated value of $139 million and its post-accident $85 million value.

THE SEARCH for the Holy Grail ends in Las Vegas ... Monty Python’s SPAMALOT opens at The Grail Theater in Wynn Las Vegas March 31. The play will star John O’Hurley as King Arthur - you may remember him as J. Peterman on Seinfeld, or season one champion of Dancing with the Stars. SPAMALOT has won dozens of awards, including a Grammy and three Tonys.

WINDOWS’ NEW operating system “Vista” has won the “Best of CES 2007” and is scheduled for release Jan. 30. Microsoft also launched “Vanishing Point,” a puzzle challenge where the grand prize is to see the Earth’s vista from space.

VEGAS IS HOME to all kinds of conventions, from the hitech Consumer Electronics Show to the fourth annual Pooper Scoopers Convention. The annual get-together is sponsored by the Association of Professional Animal Waste Specialists and includes festivities like the Turd Herding Contest, where the fastest scoop takes home the Gold Shovel award. Before you laugh too hard, there’s good money in No. 2. Pros charge up to $60 per hour, and a company in Denver grosses - so to speak - $2.3 million a year.

PERHAPS YOU’LL FIND a shoe or purse convention more appealing? The world’s finest designers of luxury footwear and handbags are putting the final touches on their new lines for the World Shoe Association show starting Feb. 1. More than 350 different brands are participating ... that means all the stores in Vegas will have the latest styles on display and on sale.
