Saving The Day And The Scooter

My wife is disabled and must use a scooter to move around, and we had a lift attached to the rear of our car that holds the scooter. Although we live in Waianae, she wanted to go to the Sunday brunch at the Hale Koa Hotel for her birthday as we used to do several years ago.
While on the freeway a pothole caused the lift main connection to break and the entire assembly to fall to the pavement. A Good Samaritan named Radford Tabaranza along with a companion in a pickup truck stopped to assist. He was able to lift the scooter into the bed of his pickup, then followed us all the way to the Hale Koa Hotel to salvage the day. Much APPLAUSE is due to Radford.

Heavy equipment operator Radford Tabaranza says he and his friend Michelle had to stop when they saw you on the side of road. “The lift was all rusted out, so I used a bungee cord to hold everything together. No big thing. That’s the way I am.”

I would like to thank two honest individuals instrumental in getting my lost wallet back to me. A gentleman found my wallet on the street and turned it in to Sharon at First Hawaiian Bank, Mililani. To this caring man, I want you to know that you are a saint. I wish I could thank you personally, but I respect you not wanting to leave your name. About a month ago, I too found a wallet and was able to get it back to its owner. I know how good it feels to be able to help someone, and I’m sure you must be feeling that too. Thank you so very much.
To Sharon, thank you for leaving the message on my machine. Your immediate action to contact me with this good news is truly appreciated.

Mililani First Hawaiian Bank service manager Sharon Kaneakua says the man who found your wallet is a true Good Samaritan. “He would-n’t leave his name. He just asked that we return Margaret’s wallet, saying ‘God loves her.’ Margaret is a regular customer, a really nice lady. I was so worried for her.”

A week ago my tenant Felicia had suffered an unfortunate incident. Her backpack was stolen. In it was her wallet and personal papers - her whole life! It was most upsetting, but she had faith that her belongings would come back. They sure did, thanks to Patti Bruce and her son, who had found her stuff on a trail during a hike! Bless them both for the good deed done for a mighty grateful lady.

Patti Bruce says her son Morgan first discovered the remnants of the backpack. “It was on the trail, ripped open with contents strewn all over the place. Someone had torn apart the wallet, but we found an ID, medical card, driver’s license, library card and makeup bag. Most of it looked like it had been in weather for a few days. We gathered what we could and took it to the Kailua police station. There was a long wait, so I looked through the bag some more and found a local address, which just happened to be close by. We just hope she didn’t lose too much.”
