he reigning Mrs. Hawaiian Islands America’s United States (AUS) Gina Ross is a fitness queen.
Prior to becoming a state titleholder for the AUS organization, the Waikele resident was known around town as a certified per- sonal trainer and owner of Fit for a Goddess, an exercise-based dance business she started 18 years ago. Now, she is merging the two worlds together to promote her passion for the empowerment of women through fitness.
So, whether she is wearing a crown and sash or running Fit for a Goddess, the beau- ty queen is always encouraging others to be active. Ross believes exercise is a tool that ev- eryone can use to improve their physical and mental health, as she experienced the positive effects firsthand.
“From my former life career, I was an ad- vertising account executive, which was my dream job. However, as a single mother at that time I was bogged down by work and didn’t have time to focus on myself or being a mom,” reveals Ross. “As I went to class-
