Holiday Season Brings Community Togetherness
Shaka Santa and Tūtū Mele are greeting visitors at their usual spot in front of the building. I hope you get a chance to make it to Hono- lulu Hale and Kapolei Hale this holiday season!
We also are looking for- ward to meeting new con- stituents in our respective district as the boundaries for each of the nine Hono- lulu Council districts have changed to align with the revised district lines that were finalized by the 2021 Council Reappointment Commission.
The holiday season is very special. Each year, my family and I try to focus on living the spirit of Christ- mas by bringing others hap- piness. We do this through community service — or simply by showing kind- ness to strangers as well as those we hold close to our hearts.
The City Department Tree Exhibit and Wreath Contest exhibition in Lane Gallery is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Honolulu Hale.
I believe Christmas is about celebrating God sending his son, Jesus, and the love, hope, faith and light he brought into our lives. However you cele- brate this time of year, and whatever your beliefs are, I wish good things for you during the holidays.
At Kapolei Hale, mean- while, luminous holiday decorations inspired by Ha- wai‘i’s oceans are open to the public daily until Jan. 3.
Starting in 2023, District 9 will no longer include Waikele, Village Park, Roy- al Kunia and Mililani Town. Instead, the new District 9 lines will include larger portions of the Waipahu and ‘Ewa communities.
