omen from Central O‘ahu can apply until July 31 for the 2022 Zonta International Jane
M. Klausman Women in Business Schol- arships, sponsored by the Zonta Club of Leilehua.
The scholarships, first awarded in 1998, are open to women enrolled in at least the second year of an undergraduate program through the final year of a master’s pro- gram in business, leading to a business management career.
There is a $1,000 club scholarship and Zonta International offers 37 scholarships of $5,000 worldwide. Since the program’s beginning, Zonta has awarded 676 schol- arships, totaling more than $1.6 million to 522 women representing 66 countries. Ac- cording to Zonta member Karen Foissotte, while women have made great strides in the pursuit of education, careers and lead- ership roles, they still comprise a minority of leaders in the business world.
