Assisted Living For Seniors

By Tricia Medeiros
Regional Director of The Plaza Assisted Living

The Plaza Assisted Living was established at a time when there were limited senior-living options in Hawaii.

Our founders had a clear mission to provide viable living options for Hawaii’s seniors in the neighborhoods they love.

Currently, there are three Plaza locations in operation -at Punchbowl, in Mililani, and Moanalua – with a fourth monthly rental community for seniors scheduled to open in Pearl City in the latter half of 2014. The Plaza at Pearl City will accommodate 158 residents and offer all of The Plaza’s personal care programs – independent living, assisted living, memory care, and short-term respite care – that have made The Plaza a preferred choice for Hawaii’s seniors and their families since opening in 2004.

Each level of care focuses on nurturing independence while providing just the right amount of assistance to make life enjoyable.

We’re often asked when assisted living or a Senior Care Center might be appropriate for loved ones.

Essentially, the answer is that once you start needing a little extra help with nursing care or tasks like bathing or dressing, assisted living can be a very helpful option.

In anticipation of a fall 2014 opening, The Plaza at Pearl City is now accepting deposits and invites interested parties to call 455-8808 for details, or visit their onsite marketing office (located at 1048 Kula St., adjacent to Pearl Highlands Center) to see facility designs or make a deposit.

To me, it feels like home. It’s an apartment complex, but it’s also a thriving community of seniors, complete with access to nursing staff, available to assist you if you have a question or problem. Having that extra help does make you less worried and much more independent.

Those interested in any of The Plaza Assisted Living’s services or properties, may schedule a tour by calling 377-5292, take a virtual tour on the website at plaza-asssitedliving.com, or “try out” The Plaza’s facilities, services and amenities by booking a short-term respite stay (for as short as a week) at the Plaza Assisted Living property of their choice.
