Roast Your Turkey In The Imu At Kailua High, Enchanted Lake

Two Kailua schools are prepared to give residents a value-added Thanksgiving via their annual imu roasts Nov. 21-22, though most spaces already may be sold out.

* Kailua High School athletic program has its imu roast Nov. 22 on campus, charging $20 per aluminum tray of thawed, seasoned and well-wrapped meat ($5 of the fee goes to imu expenses).

Trays should be delivered between 3 and 4:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at the imu site by the school parking lot. Pick-up time is 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22. Mail-in deadline is Nov. 12, and only the first 350 orders will be honored. Weight limit is 25 pounds per tray. (If cooking pork butt, roast or ham, make three deep cuts in each piece of meat.)

Make checks payable to Kailua High School and write “Attention IMU” on the lower left corner of the envelope. Enclose phone number and a self-addressed stamped envelope for the imu tag and receipt. * Enchanted Lake Elementary School has cooking space on sale to the public for $20 per aluminum tray of thawed, seasoned and well-wrapped meat. Proceeds will be used to purchase computers for classroom use.

Trays should be delivered between 6 and 9 a.m. or 3 and 6 p.m. Nov. 21. Pick-up time is 7 to 9 a.m. Nov. 22. Mail-in deadline is Nov. 16.
