Recycle E-waste Saturday At Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center

As technology develops and improves, the safe disposal of e-waste has become more important — which is why residents can bring their unwanted electronics to Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for free, secure destruction and recycling.

Acceptable items include computers, routers, monitors, laptops, telephones, DVD players, keyboards, cameras, calculators, cords and cables, printers and more. There are no quantity limits, but TV sets, batteries and home appliances will not be accepted.

The public also can bring sensitive documents for shredding — no more than three boxes per person.

Improperly discarded e-waste can be dangerous, as the metals and chemicals inside the devices are toxic to both humans and the environment.
