o‘olaupoko Robotics, a community robotics team consisting of students from three Windward high schools
and one in Honolulu, has been awarded the Rookie All Star Award at the Hawai‘i FIRST Robotics Competition Regional, which ran March 23-25. The award recognizes a rook- ie team that embodies the mission of FIRST, which is to inspire students to learn more about science and technology, and exemplifies a young but strong local partnership effort.
Ko‘olaupoko Robotics team 9019 consists of students from Le Jardin Academy and Kai- lua, Kalāheo and Farrington high schools. The team’s success in the competition has qualified it for a spot at the world championship event at the end of this month in Houston, Texas.
