s members of Castle High School’s Class of 1973 begin preparing to celebrate their Golden 50th Re-
union, reunion committee member John DeCosta is looking forward to seeing his classmates, some of whom he hasn’t seen in the five decades since they left high school.
“At the time we graduated, I don’t think anyone of us ever gave this a thought: that 50 years from graduation, we’ll get togeth- er as a class, and now it’s right around the corner,” says DeCosta, who is the reunion committee chair of food and beverage, in- cluding Hawaiian food catered by class- mate Henry Porter. “What’s so great is the food will be prepared by a classmate, the entertainment will be provided by class- mates, I mean everything we’ll be doing will be done by classmates and an awesome reunion committee.”
According to the reunion committee, the Class of 1973 was the largest to graduate from Castle up to that point with more than 500 students. While many have cel-
