diving, water polo, sailing or volleyball)? They may be the perfect candidate for the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation’s Ambassador of Aloha Scholarship.
Applications are now open for full-time, college students who have a minimum cumu- lative GPA of 3.0 and participate in one of the activities listed above, with a record of accom- plishments and intention to compete in college.
Applicants should also demonstrate the spir- it of aloha through leadership and community involvement, just like the scholarship’s name- sake did. Multiple one-time grants are avail- able and generally range from $1,000 to $3,500 each. The deadline to apply is March 1.
The foundation also grants one high school student who exemplifies the character and per- sonality traits of Kahanamoku with its Duke Award Scholarship ($15,000). School and ath- letic officials are invited to submit nominations through Jan. 25.
