ational Pet Week is May 7-13 and to celebrate fur babies of all kinds, pet owners are invited to
attend the Hawai‘i Pet Expo at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall on Satur- day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday.
“We would encourage any person who owns a pet, is thinking about getting a pet and even a person who had a pet but is not able at this time to own a pet to attend,” says Hawai‘i Pet Expo chairperson Lissa Kam.
The Hawai‘i Pet Expo was created by the Hawai‘i Veterinary Medical Associa- tion in celebration of National Pet Week more than 30 years ago.
“The event’s purpose was to educate the public about responsible pet owner- ship, to recognize the importance of the human-animal bond and to increase the awareness of the pet services available in the community,” Kam says.
