Event At State Capitol Celebrates The Local Art Scene
The 2023 Art at the Capitol took place April 14. The in-per- son event was packed with ac- tivities. In addition to touring the Capitol building, meeting with lawmakers and learning more about the public art work in and around their offices, at- tendees got to see performances by Ballet Hawai‘i, view short
films, take in a performance by the Honolulu Theater for Youth and listen to a panel discussion from Hawai‘i Contemporary ti- tled Art and Activism.
State lawmakers even con- tributed — an exhibit of wood- block prints made by legislators was on display in one of the Capitol rooms.
