  In addition to routine eye care, ophthalmologist Dr. Amelia Fong also provides oculoplastic surgeries that help with issues such as droopy eyelids, eye bags and blockages of tear drain systems.

pthalmologist Amelia Fong, M.D., of ‘Āina Haina Eye Center is expanding the oculoplastic surgery side of her
practice.
Fong, who took over the office, which was
previously owned by her mentor and friend, Dr. Joyce Cassen, three years ago, is a fellow- ship-trained oculoplastic surgeon and has per- formed more than 1,000 surgeries in the area.
“After working in Hawai‘i for thee years, I felt like it was the right time to start expand- ing the oculoplastics side,” says the alum of University of Hawai‘i John A. Burns School of Medicine.
“When I first started working, I was taking over for a general ophthalmologist. I want- ed to focus on those primary patients, even though I was performing oculoplastics sur- geries from the beginning. I feel now I am in a good place to increase this side of my practice and continue to provide great care for our gen- eral clinic patients.”
