Mililani Waena Elementary School students and staff gathered on Feb. 14 to encourage motorists to drive safely as part of the state Department of Education’s “Stop If You Love Me” traffic safety campaign. Student and adult sign-wavers reminded motorists to follow the posted speed limit and drive with care around the Kīpapa Drive school campus located behind Mililani High School. awā District Park.
Since 1968, the Wahiawā Rainbow Se-
niors Club has curated fun and fellowship for seniors from diverse backgrounds at its Monday morning meetings — except holi- days, June, July and December — and other scheduled activities throughout the year.
“The club provides community for the seniors, and the people involved are very nice. I want everybody to participate in our program,” explains club president Rodney Kohagura, who first joined in 2011 as a cu- rious observer accompanying his wife and became more involved as he realized the benefits of the club’s activities for retired seniors.
While the popular club once had a wait- list to join, it is now actively recruiting new members.
