1990 graduate of Mililani High School, Kevin Nakaoka has earned the stamp of approval at the Unit-
ed States Postal Service. He steadily rose through the ranks over the past 24 years be- fore being named postmaster of Honolulu in October. Nakaoka oversees 600 employees and the operations of 18 facilities located on O‘ahu. Those facilities extend from Hawai‘i Kai to Pearl Harbor, including the main post office near the Daniel K. Inouye Internation- al Airport.
“Ultimately, my job is to continue the Postal Service’s legacy of outstanding customer ser- vice to Honolulu, to increase the office’s en- gagement with our customers, and to contrib- ute to the overall success of the organization,” Nakaoka shares. “My longer-term goal is to support the implementation of the Postmas- ter General’s Delivering for America 10-year modernization plan. The plan establishes clear strategies to allow USPS to achieve financial stability and service excellence,” he adds.
