       W aip‘io Gentry resident Michele Hadano has been named director of acute care services at The Queen’s Medical Center. Hadano pro- vides leadership, administra- tion and clinical and opera- tional management among her duties. Hadano started working at QMC as a reg- istered nurse 37 years ago. In 2001, she transitioned from direct patient care to supporting patient care ini- tiatives within administra- tive work. She has served as coordinator of organiza- tional planning, marketing and communication, as well as leading facility planning and development. She was later promoted to nurse man- ager for surgical services at Queen Emma Tower 8 Di- amond Head. Prior to her current position, she was director of surgical and or- thopedic units from 2014 to 2021. Hadano earned her nursing degree in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For the past six years, she has also been the handler of Queen’s facility dog, Ipo, who brings com- fort and smiles to patients, staff and visitors ...
