Paliku Troupe Musical In Town

Paliku Academy of Performing Arts will take its Windward cast and crew to McKinley High School for its summer production of Once On This Island, and opening night is 7 p.m. Friday.

Though the academy and its students all are based in Kaneohe, scheduling conflicts with both of the town’s theaters meant that PAPA had to relocate this play to town.

Luckily, said director John-Paul Tai, McKinley’s auditorium has the capacity of Paliku and Ron Bright theaters combined.

The play is a musical centered on orphan Ti Moune, who challenges death with the power of love. It runs through July 27, with Friday and Saturday performances at 7 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
