A Kailua-based entrepreneur is cooking up nutritious meals available to residents islandwide at My Chef, a service that can deliver up to four dinners a week.

Danielle McCauley opened My Chef on New Year’s Day.

“Many people are finding it too hard to juggle work, family and health, so I wanted to offer an affordable service that allowed them to eat really delicious food that also was healthy,” said McCauley. “We are servicing clients who love food and appreciate our use of organic, hormone-free, free-range and local ingredients. The food is quite the culinary experience.”

As a registered dietitian, McCauley plans every meal, paying attention to fat, sodium and overall nutrition. Her small team, which includes executive chef Gida Snyder, prepares complete meal packages that can be purchased in portions for two, four or six people. Each meal comes with fruit and a healthy dessert.

“Our clients have rated Chef Gida’s vanilla and banana pudding made with local and organic milk one of our best desserts,” noted McCauley. “My personal favorite is the gluten-free chocolate and coconut cake.”

The My Chef staff makes an effort to offer vegetarian and gluten-free options. They also strive for sustainability, supporting Hawaii’s farmers and using only reusable containers and bags for their meal-delivery service. Prices start at $135 per week for three meals for two; delivery anywhere on Oahu is free. For more information, call 9276310 or visit MyChefHawaii.com
