Kailua Longs Drugs Opens Walk-in Clinic

A walk-in clinic has opened at Longs Drugs on Kailua Road to diagnose and treat patients as well as write prescriptions for common family illnesses.

The CVS MinuteClinic provides a nurse practitioner who can handle minor wounds, common vaccinations and wellness services, as well as give advice on lifestyle changes and perform physical exams for camp, sports and college. Diagnostic records can be sent to patients’ primary care doctors.

Fee for treatment starts at about $75, according to CVS Caremark Corp., which runs the clinics “to make access to high-quality medical treatment easier for more Americans.” CVS also runs Hawaii’s Longs Drugs stores.

Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sundays. The company recently opened other MinuteClinics at Longs Drugs stores in Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center, and in Aiea, Kapolei, Honolulu, Kaimuki and Hawaii Kai.
