Flood Maps Revised On Windward Stream Areas

Flood insurance rates and redevelopment plans may change on Oahu in a dozen mapped areas, and the public can view the preliminary revisions on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) website.

Windward residents and property owners who live near the shoreline, streams or other flood-prone areas may be affected and are urged to review the revised maps.

The revisions to the city’s digital flood insurance rate maps were completed recently, resulting in updates to special flood areas that include these Windward locations: Keaahala Stream, Kawainui Marsh, Keaaula Gulch, Malaekahana Stream, Wailele Stream, Oneawa Channel and Waimanalo Stream A.
