Elf Antics Abound On DHT Stage

An orphan crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole.

Thus the play Elf comes to be, and Diamond Head Theatre will put it on stage for your viewing pleasure Dec. 6-29, with a cast led by New York guest artist Jami Keck as Buddy the elf, Kalaau as Santa, Bob Frederick as Buddy’s birth father Walter Hobbs, Jennifer Sojot as Emily Hobbs and Luke Ellis as Michael Hobbs.

It’s adapted from the New Line Cinema film starring Will Ferrell.

Being raised as an elf, Buddy is unaware that he is a human until his size and poor toy-making skills force him to face the truth. He then embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father. Getting to know the Hobbs family is indeed a challenge, but Buddy is determined and eventually wins the day.

Directed and choreographed by Greg Zane, Elf will play at 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturdays, 4 p.m. Sundays, 3 p.m. Dec. 14, 21 and 28; and 7 p.m. Dec. 23. The latest added shows are at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 27 and 8 p.m. Dec. 28.

Tickets cost $50, $35, $25 and $15. For reservations, call 733-0274 or visit diamondheadtheatre.com.
