‘Akamai’ Termite Treatments

By Roger Meints
Owner of Akamai Pest Solutions

For many years, dry-wood termites have created problems for homeowners and business owners in Hawaii.

Tent fumigation was the only method of treating these wood-eating menaces, causing the home- or business-owner to bag food, stay in a hotel, eat out, and risk damage to roof, gutters, plants and solar panels.

In 2003, I founded Akamai Pest Solutions as an inspection company. When we chose to expand into termite treatments, I wanted to use a safer method of treatment instead of fumigation, which I had been involved in before this company was started.

With the use of Xt2000 Orange Oil in California becoming so popular and proven to be a safer way to treat termites, I became an authorized treatment provider here in Hawaii, and we have grown from there to now being statewide.

This treatment method is much safer for children and pets, as well as those with health issues, and the absence of toxic gas makes it a great option for those who don’t want to do a traditional fumigation – and the cost is comparable.

The process starts with a thorough inspection, and then areas of activity are treated with Xt2000 Orange Oil. The orange oil wicks through the wood, killing termites and termite eggs on contact.

The great thing about it is that the treatment can be done while the homeowner is home. There is no need to no move out, bag food or board pets, hire a security guard or risk damages. A full structure warranty is provided and annual inspections are done.

Akamai Pest Solutions has treated thousands of structures statewide with the Xt2000 Orange Oil.

I have a great deal of pride in the treatments we have provided and our contribution to keeping the environment safer, and we have a highly experienced staff of professionals to provide our services, which also include treatments for ground termites as well with only the best, most-effective termiticides available.
