OHA Grant To Enhance CNA, Aquaponics Study

For Native Hawaiians, a future in nursing and aquaponics just got easier, thanks to a grant to Windward Community College from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.

The $25,000 grant will support workforce training, tuition, uniforms, books and exam fees for students working toward credentials as nurse’s aides and aquaponics technicians.

“We are pleased to partner with OHA to increase workforce training opportunities available to our indigenous population,” stated WCC chancellor Doug Dykstra. The college also will provide each student with advisers to guide and assist them through the training and job-search process.
