DHT ‘White Christmas’ Tryouts

It’s not even Halloween yet, but Diamond Head Theatre is preparing for Christmas by holding auditions this month for its holiday musical.

Tryouts for White Christmas are scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 24 and 2 p.m. Oct. 25-26 in DHT’s rehearsal hall.

Based on the 1954 film starring Bing Crosby, White Christmas focuses on the exploits of Bob and Phil, soldiers-turned-performers who follow singing sisters Betty and Judy to Vermont and, naturally, get into all sorts of hijinks before all ends well.

Hopeful actors should be prepared to sing an uptempo song from the traditional Broadway repertoire (bring sheet music), tap dance and read from the script. Hard copies are available for perusal between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays at the theater.

The play run Dec. 5-21, and rehearsals will begin immediately, as determined by director John Rampage. For details, call DHT at 733-0277, ext. 302, or visit diamondheadtheatre.com.
