August Ahrens Ohana Works Together To Paint School Building

August Ahrens Elementary School in Waipahu is looking its best after parents, students and teachers joined forces March 24 for Campus Beautification Day. The group painted the stairway in the third grade building – taking it from a plain staircase and transforming it into a colorful display that is designed to reinforce mathematical number patterns.

The event was coordinated by the Youth Leadership Academy teachers at the school to encourage involvement and civic responsibility.
