Windward’s Run/Read To Help Fund Schools

The annual fun run for Windward public schools is set for Nov. 3 at Windward Community College, where the one-mile race will hook into a theme of mental and physical fitness, while supporting the schools.

The race begins – rain or shine – at 8:15 a.m. and follows a route around the beautiful, tree-shaded campus.

With the official title of “Run & Read, Let’s Go, for Literacy, Physical Fitness and Nutrition,” the pressure is on for families to make the most of the event.

The race begins with warm-up exercises at the starting line by Hale Akoakoa, followed at 9:15 a.m. by read-alouds by special guests along with related activities and refreshments.

Late entry deadline is Oct. 27, and the fee is $15. Proceeds go to the participant’s school of choice. Online registration is at flpregister.com.
