Wahiawa To Discuss Future Of Libraries

Wahiawa Library will mark National Library Month with a special forum on the future and value of America’s public libraries.

Set for 6 p.m. April 17, the forum has a theme of “Free Public Library in the 21st Century” and is sponsored by the branch’s Friends group. A key topic to be examined is how social media trends and e-books affect libraries.

Leading the panel discussion will be state Librarian Richard Burns, state Sen. Donovan Dela Cruz, state Rep. Marcus Oshiro, Wahiawa Neighborhood Board chairwoman Jeanne Ishikawa and Robert Lormand of the Wahiawa Historical Society.
