Verizon Hosts West Tech Classes

Verizon Wireless stores at Kapolei Commons and Pearl Highlands Center offer free workshops for Android and Apple tech users this month.

Android: Getting Started covers the basics of using your device, setting up email and connecting social networking accounts.

This class is recommended prior to taking Android: Doing More, which dives into transferring movies, music and data files, as well as how to conduct virus scans and use Near Field Communication and Android Beam.

Apple users can partake in Apple iPhone: Getting Started workshops to learn how to navigate iOS7 and use features such as mail, messages and camera.

Apple iPhone: Doing More covers iCloud, Game Center, FaceTime, Siri, iTunes and more. As with Android: Doing More, Apple: Doing More recommends participants take the Getting Started workshop first. Also, Verizon recommends initial setup be complete before attending.

These Kapolei Commons workshops take place from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.:

• April 21 — Apple iPhone: Getting Started

• April 23 — Apple iPhone: Doing More

• April 28 — Android: Getting Started
