Two Area Schools Want To Recycle Your Stuff

Puohala and Hau‘ula elementary schools both have scheduled Aloha Aina community recycling drives in the near future. Hauula’s is from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 28, and Puohala is open the same hours on March 7.

They welcome all contributions from the public, in partnership with Schnitzer Steel and Kokua Hawaii Foundation’s 3Rs School Recycling Program. Accepted are scrap metal, bicycles, appliances, computers, laptops, printers, cartridges and other e-waste products.

Also needed: batteries, TV sets, used cooking oil, paper, corrugated cardboard, reusable clothing and household items (for Goodwill), HI-5 containers and plastics (No. 1 and 2 containers).

Proceeds from recycler payments go to the schools. Email 3rs@kokuahawaiifoundation.org.
