The event featured local food, crafters and businesses from around the island. There also was entertainment, giveaways and artist showcases. Among the artists were famed ukulele player Troy Fernandez and author/illustrator Lloyd Berardy.

With the Shop & Grind series, Aloha Stadium is trying to raise 2,500 quarters to honor Ronald McDonald House’s 25th anniversary.

Ronald McDonald Charities of Hawaii provides housing for families who have children being treated in nearby hospitals. Attendees made monetary and in-kind donations, including bottled water, DVDs and toiletries during the event.

If you missed Shop & Grind for a Cause this time, there are more opportunities to help later on. Future series dates are May 28, June 11, Sept. 3 and Nov. 12. The stadium currently is seeking vendors for these festivities. Those interested should call Samantha Spain at 483-7133.
