Shred Away At Oct. 19 ‘Secure Your ID Day’

Windward Oahu residents can be pro-active on Secure Your ID Day this Saturday by taking their unneeded documents for shredding between 9 a.m. and noon to Castle High School’s theater parking lot.

Partners in the community service day will accept up to two boxes of personal papers, as well as electronic waste and unused cell phones at Castle and also at McKinley High School and at Access Information Management (AIM), 98-736 Moanalua Loop in Aiea.

Also present will be security experts from First Hawaiian Bank and Better Business Bureau to advise about identity theft protection. “Consumers and businesses are now identifying and stopping scams faster than ever before,” said BBB’s CEO Gregory Dunn. “But con artists also are acting quicker, taking advantage of technology and victimizing more consumers.

“It is in consumers’ best interests to treat their personal information like they do their personal safety.”

Co-partner with AIM in the Oct. 19 effort is Pacific Corporate Solutions. For more information, call 628-3912 or visit bbb.org.
