Shopping Where Service Is Super

Hi Pamela,

Thank you so much for this forum to get the word out on people and businesses who truly deserve APPLAUSE. I want to say a sincere thank you and great job to Cinnamon Girl in Kahala Mall associate HChung (going by the name on my receipt, not sure what her full name is, unfortunately). Besides the good customer service and the all cool items in this store, what really prompted me to write this is what happened when I got home. The sales associate explained she had given me some extra gifts bags for my purchases, but I didn’t realize until I got home that she had already individually wrapped each item. After opening the first item I discovered she had even blacked out the price tag and taped the gift receipt on the item. Talk about customer service. It was all ready to go what a nice surprise. I know it seems small, but I think it’s the little things that matter, and people like HChung and local places like Cinnamon Girl that deserve our praise and support.

Dear Lisa,

“That’s Noe!” says Kahala Cinnamon Girl manager Dway Orosco.

“(Helen) Noe Chung is always very welcoming in her appear-ance and manner. It’s store policy to wrap each item if we know it’s a gift, but Noe makes an effort to talk to customers and make them into friends.”

Dear Pamela,

I dropped my Maui Jim sunglasses while shopping at Don Quijote Pearl City and spent about 15 minutes backtracking my steps and going round and round the store trying to locate them. After asking every stockperson I encountered if they saw my sunglasses, I was finally directed to the Customer Service counter. After asking me exactly where and what I had shopped for, Gaylene was nice enough to actually come out from behind the counter and walk the floor looking for them. She was terrific! It only took her a few minutes to find my sunglasses in the apples! I was so sure someone had found my sunglasses and pocketed them. In a world where so many people couldn’t care less about helping someone, her willingness to help me was very refreshing! Thank you so much, Gaylene! God bless you!

Thank you, too, MidWeek! This is a great service to help everyone remember that there are still people out there who are honest, caring and helpful. It also makes us willingly want to do the same for others.

Dear Donna,

“I was happy to help her find her Maui Jim sunglasses,” says Gaylene, who’s a little shy about sharing her last name. “Here at Don Quijote we try our best to help our customers. I’m just glad she got her sunglasses back.”
