Shop Nova
When Lachelle Rodrigues is not working her full-time job as an insurance consultant, she’s busy with her new store Shop Nova in Kapahulu. Here, customers will find a mix of new and revived clothing, jewelry, home goods and trinkets. There also are new and revived handbags, handmade jewelry, vintage platters, one-of-a-kind vases and dishes from Japan, and more.
“This has been a longtime dream of mine,” says Rodrigues, who was born and raised on Kauai but now lives in Honolulu. “I opened Shop Nova because I am passionate about personal style and unique things. I’m doing it for love and selffulfillment. I hand pick every item and won’t sell something that I myself wouldn’t use. I pride myself on offering unique and style-worthy merchandise without being too trendy.
“I want people to be able to explore and find something unique each time they visit. I also hope people feel welcomed and relaxed, as if they were my own guests at my house.”
Just in time for summer, the store recently put out a bin of $8 revived bikini tops. Rodrigues also plans to have a pop-up shop at Work It Out on Kauai sometime next month.
Shop Nova opened in March and is located at 744 Kapahulu Ave. Street parking is available in front of the store, and on nearby side streets, including Date Street.
