Rotary Waikiki Garage Sale

The Rotary Club of Waikiki presents its third annual garage sale Feb. 23 from 8 a.m. to noon, benefitting Waikiki Elementary School and its youth activity programs.

The sale takes place in the school’s cafeteria and will feature books, clothing, toys and collectible items. Anyone interested in contributing items for the sale can drop off donations at the school cafeteria Feb. 22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for sorting and pricing. All donations are welcome, and items not sold will go to the Salvation Army.

This year’s volunteers include Waikiki Rotarians, students from La Pietra School and members of PLT Beta Zeta Hawaii Chapter. Waikiki Elementary School is located at 3710 Leahi Ave. For more information, visit or call 395-2290.

Lesportsac Designer Meet-And-Greet

LeSportsac’s print designer Naomi Nemitz will make a special appearance to celebrate the launch of the newest LeSportsac Hawaii exclusive print called Just Cruzin’ Feb. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at LeSportsac in Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki.

Nemitz grew up in Maine and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She has been with LeSportsac as a print designer since 2005, and lives in Brooklyn, where she bicycles over the Williamsburg Bridge to LeSportsac’s New York headquarters in Manhattan each day for work.

She says one of her favorite parts of the job is gathering inspiration. She has traveled around the world from Stockholm, Paris and London to India, Cuba and Tokyo, exploring street markets full of vintage fabrics and colorful murals.
