Register Children Now For Kindergarten
Parents are being urged to register their keiki for kindergarten or pre-kindergarten now for the upcoming school year, which begins Aug. 5.
Children who will be 5 years old by Aug. 1 are invited to enroll in grade K, and those who turn 5 by Dec. 31 can enter junior-K. (Neither class is mandatory in Hawaii.)
Some schools have completed their open registration period; others conduct parent orientations. Among these is Kanoelani Elementary, which will have a kindergarten orientation and tour day from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. April 6 for Waipio. Crestview and Seaview families can call 675-0195.
West Oahu families should contact their neighborhood school for specific information, or call the Leeward District office at 692-8000 or Central District office at 627-7478 for assistance.

The 2012-2013 school year ends May 24.
