Printmakers’ Salute To Open Friday At Gallery

Gallery ‘Iolani will salute island printmakers in its next exhibition, which begins with a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday on the Windward Community College campus.

“Lineage” showcases artists who have made “significant contributions to the strong printmaking tradition in Hawaii.” Conceived, researched and curated by award-winning teacher and artist Erika Molyneux of Kaneohe, the show is a kind of family tree of print-makers that emphasizes the relationship connecting generations of artists to the style.

Works by the following artists, many of them from Windward Oahu, are on view at the exhibition, which runs through Nov. 25: Huc Luquiens, John Melville Kelly, Isami Doi, Joe Feher, Jean Charlot, Lee Chesney, Ed Stasack, Jeff Dunn, Ron Kowalke, Allyn Bromley, Dodie Warren, Wayne Miyamoto, Marcia Morse, Laura Smith, David Smith, Mike Harada, George Woollard, Hiroki Morinoue, Charles Cohan, Duncan Dempster, Rob Molyneux and Vince Hazen.

The gallery is open form 1 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. For more information, call Toni Martin at 236-9155.
