Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 10, 11, 17 and 18, and at 3 p.m. Feb. 12 and 19. Tickets are $25 for general admission; $20 senior/UH faculty/staff and active duty with military ID for up to two tickets; and $10 for youth and college students with ID.
Hula, mele and aloha are interwoven into this story about cultural perpetuation and legacy, as four very different women try to overcome their fears, pride and insecurities to discover the true meaning of hula.
“This is a play about creating ʻohana, be- yond biological relations and the great hon- or and sometimes burden of perpetuating culture,” states Kinoshita. “Oki’s play is an unforgettable and moving experience. If you love hula, you cannot miss this play honor- ing its power.”
