Honolulu Habitat for Humanity has been awarded $1.5 million from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs to create affordable homeownership opportunities for Native Ha- waiian families. “We are so grateful for this opportunity to partner with OHA,” states Waimānalo resident TJ Jo- seph, CEO of Honolulu Habitat for Humanity. “As a Native Hawaiian wom- an and Habitat homeown- er residing on homestead, I know the transformative power of having a safe, af- fordable place to call home. Their support will create life-changing outcomes to- day and build impact and opportunity for future gen- erations of Native Hawai- ians.” The program will provide permanent, afford- able shelter and foster eco- nomic self-sufficiency for 36 Native Hawaiians over the next two years.
