he voices of 90 people from the Windward Choral Society will come together in harmony singing songs
from Hawai‘i, Zambia, Brazil, Great Britain and beyond to celebrate the holidays at two upcoming free performances. They will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at Kailua United Meth- odist Church and at 3 p.m. Dec. 11 at St. An- thony of Padua Church in Kailua. Donations are appreciated.
Leading the singers of diverse back- grounds, ages and musical experiences is artistic director and conductor Susan Mc- Creary Duprey.
“I believe singing in harmony together is such a healing form,” says McCreary Duprey. “We are building community through song.”
Now that the holidays are here, the Wind- ward Choral Society will be holding these first concerts, titled Carol of Joy, after a two-year hiatus. Along with guest musicians and col- laborative pianist Thomas Yee, attendees will enjoy familiar Christmas carols along with Vivaldi’s Gloria and repertoire by Dan For-
