Animal Lovers Can Take Walk In Park
O‘ahu’s largest animal welfare organization, Ha- waiian Humane Society, is gearing up for its annual Pet- Walk fundraising event and celebration, and Windward O‘ahu residents are wel- come to get involved.
Registration costs $25 and includes an exclusive PetWalk commemorative T-shirt and sponsor swag.
Fundraising for the walk is already underway, and those who want to participate are asked to create an online fundraising page, where ʻo- hana, friends and colleagues can join their team or donate to their fundraising efforts. Those who raise funds will have the opportunity to re- ceive “mahalo gifts,” and the first 50 individual fund- raisers will be entered to win 50,000 HawaiianMiles.
It all comes to a close on Oct. 29 at the in-person PetWalk that takes place at Kapi‘olani Regional Park. From 8 a.m. to noon, pets and people can expect cos- tume contests, vendors and more.
Participating in the recent Visitor Industry Charity Walk are (from left) Lincoln and Ava Forner, Sarah Falzarano, Tina Scotty and Ruth Santos of the Kāne‘ohe-based EPIC Training and Development youth center. The walk was sponsored by Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association. It stretched from Magic Island to Waikīkī and back. For more information about the walk, visit charitywalkhawaii.

The funds raised will go directly toward helping the over 20,000 local animals that seek Hawaiian Humane Society’s services each year.
